The course covers essential topics for travel, including greetings and introductions, transportation, accommodations, food and restaurants, markets, money and payments, health and emergencies, cultural etiquette, and everyday communication through WhatsApp and signs. Special attention is given to common expressions and politeness strategies in Mexican Spanish, with notes on regional differences across Latin America. The main learning objectives are to help students: • Communicate clearly and politely in common travel situations • Use essential vocabulary and phrases needed for transportation, lodging, food, and safety • Write practical messages such as reservations, simple emails, and short notes • Understand real signs, menus, announcements, and instructions • Interact respectfully with locals and recognize cultural expectations • Handle unforeseen situations—lost items, illness, changes in plans—with confidence This course is not tied to any official exam and does not prepare students for a standardized language test on a specific date.
