Sami Chowdhury

Professional Ed.

Background in Education:

With a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Arizona, I bring a unique educational approach that bridges scientific rigor with real-world business experience. My background in scaling complex operations and translating cutting-edge research into practical solutions shapes my teaching philosophy, which centers on developing critical thinking skills and first principles reasoning that students can apply throughout their lives, regardless of their chosen field. Rather than focusing on traditional formulas and frameworks, I teach students to think systematically, identify opportunities others might miss, and combine insights from different fields to solve complex problems.

Professional Milestones & Accolades:

I lead strategic initiatives at Royal Capital Ltd., Bangladesh's largest stock brokerage, where my work helped grow the client base from 20,000 to over 105,000 and expand operations from 15 to 37 branches nationwide. Our innovation efforts earned the AAA Asset Award for "Best Solution for Payments and Collections" at The Asset Triple A Treasuries Awards 2024 in Hong Kong. Additionally, I advised a functional beverage startup on research and commercialization strategies, developing systematic AI-driven workflows to synthesize hundreds of scientific studies and translate complex research into actionable product strategies.

Teaching Philosophy:

My classroom focuses on real-world case studies and first principles analysis. I believe in teaching students to think like innovators—developing the analytical frameworks and problem-solving skills they'll need to navigate an ever-changing world.

Hobbies & Passions:

Outside of teaching and business, I'm passionate about tennis and admire players like Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal for their precision, endurance, and competitive mindset—qualities I try to instill in my students' approach to problem-solving.
