Student-Driven Pricing
Student-driven pricing is the idea that the price of an educational service (whether it's a group tutoring session, a test-prep course, or an afterschool activity, etc...) should be based on the number of students being served by it.
To fully demonstrate how revolutionary a student-driven pricing can be, we must first consider some challenges that students and teachers are faced with when working in group learning environments. In doing so, it will become clear that traditional price models are deeply flawed and prioritize profits over students.
At learnallot, we have devised a price model that not only puts students first, but has the power to drastically lower the cost of learning for everyone. Student-driven pricing is a viable way to make learning services available to the huge student populations who are currently unable to afford them.
1
Individual Attention in Group Learning
In group learning environments, the amount of 1-on-1 time a teacher has is split up as evenly as possible. This means that students in larger groups will get less 1-on-1 time with their teacher.

2
The Pricing Problem in Group Learning
Most learning companies charge students the same flat rates for a group learning services. It doesn't matter how a large a group is or how little individual attention students get, its all the same price.

3
Profit-Driven
Price Models
By never changing the amount they charge students OR the amount they pay teachers, the owners of these learning companies are the only ones who benefit.
As the size of a group increases, owners make more money and an larger shares of revenue despite not teaching a single thing!

4
A Solution to
the Pricing Issue
If being in a larger group means less 1-on-1 time, then it would make sense for it to cost less. Group services should be priced according to how many students register for them.

5
Student-Driven
Pricing
By using a price model that is driven by students and NOT by profits, we are able to greatly reduce the price of group learning services for students. The larger the group, the less it costs!

6
Scalability and
Expanding Access
Student-Driven Pricing becomes more powerful the larger you scale it and is designed to make private learning services accessible to all!
Medium sized groups (20-100 students) could see prices fall under $10 an hour with larger groups (200-1000 students) costing between $1 and $3 an hour!
