About Us
who we are
learnallot is a virtual learning marketplace that lets students band together and lower the price of educational services. It was founded by math teacher and private tutor Pat Nappi in October of 2023. Registered as a limited liability corporation in New York State, it operates within the Schools and Educational Services industry (SIC Code 8299).
What sets learnallot apart from other virtual learning marketplaces is its student-driven pricing model which continually lowers the price of services as more and more students register for them. This greatly reduces cost and makes educational services more accessible to students and families who were previously unable to afford them.
allot (verb)
[ uh-lot ] / əˈlɒt /
1) to divide or distribute by share or portion; distribute or parcel out; apportion:
-
other learning companies pocket 90% of the money you pay them and allot just 10% to the folks who actually teach.
2) to appropriate for a special purpose:
-
we allot just 10% of the money you pay towards operating, allowing us to greatly reduce prices for students AND ensuring our teachers are paid fairly.
Our Philosophy
At learnallot , we are driven by students and helping them get through the current educational crisis. Our philosophy of education can be summed up in the following 5 principles:
I. Education is a service provided to students by teachers
II. Students deserve better access to highly effective teachers
III. Teachers deserve better access to the revenue they generate
IV. Families deserve to save money if their students work in groups
V. Learning Companies must prioritize students over profit
Our Mission
Our mission is to create a learning marketplace that truly puts students first and embodies the principles of our philosophy. We aim to provide high quality learning services in the most efficient and scalable way possible. By putting students, their families, and teachers ABOVE profits, we will change the way people think about educational service and force institutional change in a field that sorely needs it.
